Making a Difference with Plover Primary School
“We believe in making a difference, and we think it is important to give back to our community and practice gratitude. It was because of this reason, we decided to organise a fun and educational visit for some lucky students.”
Having visited Plover Primary School several times over the past few months, The New Media Company were impressed by some of the fabulous artwork in and around the school so, when Head Teacher Steve Bowler asked if they would be interested in organising a small class about design, the New Media team were very excited.
On Wednesday 15th of July, a small group of children visited The New Media Company studio for an exclusive Design Master Class! The team showed the pupils how they created some of their brilliant illustrations, including those of Sam and Sammie. (Some top secret hints and tips were also given away).
After watching the designers work through their processes, the group of children were given a real design brief, which they had to implement. The children were then given the opportunity to use their own creative skills to come up with their own character drawings. There was opportunity to use the computers and drawing tablets to turn their brilliant artworks into real digital illustrations. Some of which can be seen below!
The whole New Media team were really impressed, not only by the skill level on display, but by the quick pace in which the pupils were able to learn new techniques and technologies. It was an awesome experience for all involved. The New Media Company hope to run more Master Classes in the future for other local schools.
The Plover Primary School students involved in the visit deserve recognition for the impressive work they produced.
